The 1-A-Day Project is my self-challenge to post one image to this gallery daily. The images I am sharing are not in any particular order, they are a reflection of the many places we have visited, during many seasons ~ Enjoy!!!!

“A strong man and a waterfall always channel their own path.”

Helmcken Falls
Wells Gray Provincial Park, B.C.

* Helmcken Falls is the fourth highest waterfall in Canada, measured by total straight drop without a break. Helmcken Falls is a 141 m (463 ft) waterfall on the Murtle River.

Weathered

* Today I decided to shoot textures for Texture Tuesday. Yesterday, when I was shooting my penny tribute, I noticed that the BBQ had some great textures on the metal surface. When you really start looking for them you will find there are so many different textures. Everywhere! This one makes a pretty cool abstract too :)

Penny
1858 - 2013

* Today the The Royal Canadian Mint stopped distributing pennies. This is my tribute to the penny. I have jars and jars full of them, guess it is time to roll them up and cash them in.

PS - Those of you wondering what Rhymes with Orange from yesterday, it is door hinge :) LOL

Rhymes with Orange

Nordegg, Alberta

* This is an image taken while visiting some old buildings that are still standing in the small town of Nordegg. There are a couple of real gems there!

Frigid

* This image was captured while on a trip to Abraham Lake in the Kootenay Plains. There are a number of members of our local camera club, including Linda Treleaven, heading to Abraham Lake this weekend. I thought I would share some images from this great area for the next few days, offering them some inspiration. Truth be told, I am jealous as hell and really wish I was going!! They are supposed to have plus temperatures, which is a far cry from the -43° I woke up to a couple of days ago. Gotta love Alberta :)

Leaving Jasper

I wanted to title this image "The Road Home...?" but in my heart, I could not. This image was taken from in the truck while travelling east on Highway 16 to Edmonton. Edmonton is my home and I love this great city BUT I honestly believe Jasper WILL be my home some day, so for longevity purposes I used a different title :)

* For the month of January I have posted images of Jasper in January. This is my pet project and is very dear to my heart :) This was my fifth year venturing out into this amazing winter wonderland. I hope you have enjoyed these images from a place I hope to call home.

The Glory Hole (2013)

* This is one of my favorite spots to photograph in Jasper. You can go here at any time of day and come away with great images. Of course, sunrise and sunset are the ideal time to go, offering many stunning images.

For the past few days I have been posting images from this location, taken over the last four years. It is never the same from one year to the next.

This was taken this year when I was in Jasper. I did not shoot at the Glory Hole as much as I would have liked to, but as I said in the beginning of this series, you always come away with a good image at this beautiful location.
